Sherlock Birthday Photo Project!
Hello! We’re having a little project to celebrate Sherlock’s birthday, perhaps your followers here are interested to join? Open for Sherlockians worldwide!
For the world’s only consulting detective’s birthday on January 6, we thought of a little something that all of us can join in and do together to celebrate!
The idea is to collect photographs from Sherlockians all around the world with the theme:
HOW WOULD YOU CELEBRATE SHERLOCK HOLMES’ BIRTHDAY?
You can be as fun, crazy, and creative as you like! You can take a picture of yourself cosplaying Sherlock Holmes, a Sherlock-themed party, a special birthday cake for the occasion, your redecorated-to-look-like-221B bedroom, or whatever you like! It can range from something really simple to really huge, anything special that can add up to the festivity is welcomed.
Each person may submit as many photographs as he/she likes. Submissions through Tumblr, Twitter (@SherlockianID), or email to sherlockianid@gmail.com are accepted. Please include your name and country in your submission, the deadline is January 13, 2013. We plan to compile it in an album on our Flickr account and put them together into one huge special birthday collage. Every photograph counts!

There’s something special in store for you! Together with Visimedia, the publisher who brings you collections of Sherlock Holmes stories translated to Indonesian, we are having a special giveaway event! All your submissions will be collected and FIVE of the best ideas will be chosen to win an exemplar of Sherlock Holmes stories collection each! Again, you may submit as many as you like.
The photo submission is open for all Sherlockians worldwide. We’re still waiting for series 3, might as well make the best out of our time and have fun! We look forward to your participation!
Sherlockians in Baltimore Birthday Meetup!
This past summer, we were lucky enough to meet a very special Sherlockian at Otacon. We’ve fondly dubbed her ‘Babylock’. She’s hosting a meetup in the Baltimore, MD on Saturday, January 5th!
There will be a trip to the Science Museum and a Birthday Dinner!

Having read many comments, posts and extended essay on the subject of the Holmes Brothers and their myriad of psychiatric problems – I feel that I too should throw something into the psychoanalysis pot. In my case it’s going to be a much loved copy of the Oxford Handbook of Psychiatry.

Well worth a read, though I disagree on the subject of Sherlock and autism. While being professionally diagnosed would be pointless for him, I’m of the opinion that he is on the spectrum, albeit a very unusual case.
